Bandhurakh Hockey Club shall be playing against Guru Nanak Hockey Club (GNHC) in the final of the Jammu District Hockey Championship, organised by the Hockey Jammu and Kashmir at K K Hakhu Stadium, here tomorrow.
The title clash, scheduled at 2 pm, shall be followed by the prize distribution function at the same venue.
Earlier,in the semifinals, played today, Bandhurakh Club defeated Sahil Hockey Club 4-2. From Bandhurakh, Taranpreet Singh (17th),Sonu (18th), Rohit (19th) and Sunil (38th)were the scorers. All the goals were scored by field goals. Gurjeet Singh (14th) and Damanpreet Singh (47th) scored for the Sahil Club.
In the second semifinal of the day, Guru Nanak Hockey Club blanked Young Star Hockey Club 7-0 in a one-sided contest. Sukhchinder Singh (2nd and 9th),Saksham Sharma (5th), Mankiran Singh (8th), Karan (18th),Tejvir Singh (25th) and Smeer (29th) were the scorers.
Earlier,Dr. Taran Singh, general secretary Hockey J&K, accompanied by Iqbal Singh Allah, veteran hockey player, interacted with the players of teams playing in the semifinals.
The semifinals officiated by the Gurvachan Singh, Sahil Kumar (both qualified umpires),Anjali Hockey, Minakshi, Jagjit Singh, Anu Sharma and Sarabjeet Kour were the technical officials.
