Balbir Singh, a sportscoach with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), has successfully completedNational Certification in Sports Coaching in the discipline of Kabbadi.

He completed the course atthe Sports Authority of India (SAI) Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports(NS NIS) Southern Centre, Bengaluru. ​The certification programme was conductedunder the Mass Sports Participation Programme initiated by the Sports Authorityof India (SAI).

Balbir Singh expressed hisgratitude to the University, especially Vice-chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumarfor providing the opportunity to participate in the programme.

​Vice-Chancellor notedthat such certifications by staff members enhance the

University’s capacity totrain students in traditional sports like Kabaddi, aligning with theinstitution’s mission to promote holistic development through the such initiatives.
