: At a young age of 13,Ishwam Kwatra is new Jammu District Chess Champion. Giving a stunning performance against his seniors, this talented boy has achieved a lot in short span of two years of practicing chess.
Already won the under-13and under-11 titles earlier, Ishwam received a cash prize of Rs 3,000 for being district champion.
Making a modest beginning two years back at Vivek Chess Academy in Jammu, Ishwam, a seventh standard student of Jodhamal School has been supported by the parents, especially mother, during his years of learning the chess.
Training two to three hours a day with expert guidance of a Rajasthan based coach in online mode, Ishwam has ultimate aim in life to become World Champion one day with his dedication and hardwork.
Ishwam, with a FIDE rating of 1487, emerged champion contesting against higher rated opponents Soumya Mahajan (1599), Anurag Singh (1597) and Aahana Gupta (1541) in the Jammu District Championship.
