Akhnoor Zone bagged the under-19 boys Kabaddi trophy beating Zone Jammu 35-29 in the final of the inter-zone district level competitions, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Khel Gaon in Nagrota, here today.

Earlier, in the semifinals, Zone Jammu beat Zone Khour 40-21 and Akhnoor beat Zone Jourian40-11.

In the meantime, the under-19 boys Handball title won by Zone Gandhi Nagar, who beat Zone Akhnoor 12-06 in the final. Semifinals: Zone Akhnoor bt Zone Satwari 10–05; Zone Gandhi Nagar bt Zone Jammu 10–06.

CRICKET: Under-19 Boys: Zone Jourian beat Akhnoor Zone by seven runs. Elected to bat, Jourian made 69 runs for seven, which, in reply, Akhnoor could not chase and the whole side bowled out for 62 to lose the match.

FOOTBALL: Under-19 Boys: Preliminary Round: Zone Marh bt Zone Bhalwal 2–0; Zone Gandhi Nagar drew Zone Jourian 1–1; Zone Jammu bt Zone Bishnah 4–0.

KHO-KHO: Under-14 Girls: Miran Sahib bt Akhnoor 12–09; Jammu bt Chowki Choura 11–03; Marh bt Satwari 9–3; Miran Sahib bt Chowki Choura 7–3. Under-17: Miran Sahib bt Akhnoor 11–04; Jammu bt Chowki Choura 9–4; Jammu bt Miran Sahib 7–3.
