President of the All India Football Federation (AIFF), Kalyan Chaubey has assured visiting former India footballer from J&K, Arun Malhotra of early election of the J&K Football Association (JKFA).

The AIFF president's assurance came after Arun discussed the prevailing uncertainty in J&K football in view of the long pending elections. He (Arun) laid emphasis on conducting of JKFA elections for streamlining the football activities in the Union Territory.

Besides elections, both Arunand Chaubey, sitting at AIFF Headquarters discussed critical issues concerning football in J&K.

Arun told Chaubey that there was no local football league in the region for the past several years, which has severely impacted competitive football and player development.

The AIFF president assured Arun that issues raised during the meeting would be addressed on priority,including that of pending elections of the JKFA .
