The first day of the free coaching sessions by Grand Master (GM), Himanshu Sharma was attended by 16 young and promising chess players at Hotel Nek, here today.

The initiative of exposure of specialized three-day long training sessions by GM has been taken by All J&K Chess Association (AJKCA) with the sole aim to improve the performance of those players from J&K.

“Similar coaching sessions have been arranged for Kashmir Division players at Srinagar from April five. Efforts are being made to expose young talent to expert coaching concept clearing sessions on a regular basis,” informed former president of AJKCA, Baldev Raj.

Earlier, the visiting GM was welcomed and received by Baldev Raj and other members of the Association atthe venue. He was introduced with the participants and their parents.
